Hey everyone! How are you all doing! I sat down to do a simple french mani and ended up doing this chic peacock design. It’s funny that how sometimes just playing with imagination gives you unexpected yet satisfying results. After doing the Red tips I added simple dots on my accent nail. Then thought, why not add some contrast, there came the yellow shimmer. I noticed this lovely peacock pattern and felt like it needed a touch of blue to be more appealing. So, I added some dried flowers. That’s the story behind it!
Items and Tools I Used
- Base Coat Nail Polish
- Wine Red Nail Polish ~ Avon Wine and Dine me
- Red Nail Polish – Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Rhapsody Red
- Yellow Gold Shimmer Nail Polish – Covergirl Sulfur blaze
- Lilac Color Nail Polish – Colorbar Sweet Lilac
- Dried Flowers for Nail Art
- A pair of scissors
- Nail Art Dotting Tool
- Nail Art Liner Brush
- Top Coat
How I did the Nail Design
Apply base coat on all your nails and let it dry. Then apply a dark red polish on the nail tips following the natural smile line of your nails. You can also use french manicure guide stickers for a crisp and clean smile line. I did the french mani on clear background. If you wish, you can apply a neutral pink as a base color.
Take some lilac polish on a aluminum foil, dip your liner brush in it and out line the dark red tips. For a clean mani line, apply it in small strokes. Using a big dotting tool and red nail polish, make red dots in descended order from tip to down towards the corner of the ring finger. Now with a small dotting tool and shimmery yellow polish, make yellow dots in the center of red ones. You can notice I made some bigger yellow dots filling the center with red polish too.
Add a layer of top coat after the polish is dry. Take small dried flowers and cut out the petals using a mini scissor. Now add it in between the dots. I used blue color dried flowers, You can use any other color as per your preference. Now seal the whole design with top coat and you’re done!
