Summer Nails Design ~ Pink Flowers!

flower nail art 2019

I recently pampered myself with a relaxing at home manicure. Wasn’t able to decide which polish to wear. I was wearing a cute pink purple glitter shade for last week which was a gift from my better half on valentine’s day. Again I wore the same polish. I can’t seem to get tired of this polish, even though it’s a pain to apply and remove. Then thought why not improvise and do a nail art over it. So I did this beautiful pink flower design which is perfect for the spring. I don’t really do my nails according to season but if you are a person who loves to dress up for occasions and seasons, then you would love this nail design!

How I did The Nail Design

Apply a good base coat polish on your nails and let it dry. Applying base coat is the most important step of any manicure as it helps your mani to stay long and it also prevents yellowness. Now apply a pink glitter nail polish. I used Cuccio Colour Nail Polish in the shade Mimes and Magicians. It’s a beautiful pink white purple multi-size glitter polish. It looks really pretty if you apply it correctly. However it’s time taking and requires patience. Read the full review and swatches for more information.

Now make a deep french manicure. It doesn’t have to be neat and perfect as we will mask the mani by making leaves and flowers. Rest your fingers on a flat surface. Take less amount of white polish and start applying in small strokes from the corner of your nail tip. Then slowly roll your finger while gently dragging the polish brush over your nail tip.

Take some Dark Green Polish on a Aluminum foil and add a drop of polish thinner. Polish tends to get thick and dry quickly and it’s tricky to do detail nail art. Hence I added a drop of polish thinner to thin it out, so that it’s fluid and gives you needed time to do art with it. Take some green polish on a fine liner brush and out line the white nail tips. Again it doesn’t have to be perfect and clean.

With the same green polish, make leaves along the mani line using the liner brush. Make a small dot like shape and gently pull the brush upwards. This will create the perfect leaf like shape. Take some lilac nail polish on the same brush make uneven dots along the french tip line. I didn’t add any polish thinner with this step because the polish itself has thin consistency and making dots didn’t really take much time. Now apply a semi sheer pink nail polish over the lilac color.

To make these uneven dots appear more like flowers, add some contrast and color. I added some bright yellow gold shimmer polish in the center of the dots. I used Covergirl Sulfur Blaze for this step. Now to make it really pop as a flower make a small red dot in the center of the yellow polish. You can notice, how lovely they look. Just like flowers! Wait for all the art work to dry and seal your beautiful floral nail design with top coat.
