Red Rose Nail Design ~ Nail Art Design Tutorial Step By Step

Hey everyone! Hope you are enjoying your day. Today I’m here with a pretty red rose nail design for you all. This Nail Art inspired by the rose bouquet, my darling husband gave me. I though, How about a nail art of the bouquet. He was thrilled to hear it. I thought it will be a nice return gift to him. It is not perfect as a bouquet should be, but I tried my best to make it look pretty. I will guide you guys for this nail art design tutorial step by step. I used acrylic paints to make the leaves and roses and choose a very natural base color.

Red Rose Nail Design

Items and Tools I Used

  • Base Coat Nail Polish
  • Nude Nail Polish – 2% Milk by Wet n Wild
  • Glitter Nail Polish – My Private Polish by Julie G
  • Acrylic Paint – Red, Green and White
  • Nail Art Liner Brush
  • Top Coat Polish

How I did the Nail Design

Start by applying base coat polish on your nail and let it dry. Covering your nails with a good base coat is highly important for your nail health. It prevents staining and keeps the manicure longer. Not to forget, base coat protects your natural nails from the harmful chemicals that are available in Polish or paint.

Apply two thin layers of 2% Milk by Wet n Wild and give it some time to dry. You can use a Nail Dryer to make the drying process faster. Wet n Wild 2% Milk is a lovely natural nude polish. It gives the perfect shine and doesn’t hide your natural nails. Very nice base for french manicure designs!

As the the nude polish I used is very sheer, I applied two coats of glitter polish on my nail tips to cover it well and a little bling to make the design pretty. I’m a glitter freak, so when I get a chance, I always add a touch of glitter! I used My Private Polish by Julie G for my nail tip. I love this polish, a very pretty and unique glitter shade.

Now let’s get to painting roses on the nail. Take green acrylic paint on a liner brush and make slight curvy lines to represent branches. Liner brush make the job easier when it comes to draw lines. Just make sure you don’t have too much of paint on the brush and gently drag the brush to create lines. Then make tiny leaves using the same liner brush. Gently tap tip of the brush to make leaves. We will make red roses, once the green paint is dry.

With red acrylic paint on the liner brush, make some uneven dots where you want to place the Roses. Mix tiny bit of white in red paint to create a light red color. Highlight the dots by making small swirly shapes. Using the sharp tip of the brush make some random white and red dots. Let the paint dry fully and seal the whole design with Top Coat.

  1. I love your post! Very detailed and easy to follow. I would love to try this sometime!

  2. Now I think the red rose nail design is the most difficult nail art that you have done so far. Too bad you can’t somehow take your art and have one of those profession nail sets created for others to wear. You know, the press-on types or something.

Anyways, I can see that you have a lot of patience.

  3. Hey,
