Hey everyone! Hope you are having a great day! Ombre and Glitter, These two words just cheer me up. So, here I’m, very happy with these ombre nails. Love the color transition! Pink to Lavender to Gold and the chunky glitter in them. It’s ideal for those who want to get pretty nails at home without spending a bunch in the salon. The only tool you will need is a piece of makeup sponge(Wedge). Read on to know how I did this ombre effect glitter nails with sponge.

How I did the Nail Design!
Start by applying base coat on your nails and let it dry completely. Paint all your nails with a base color. I chose a pale pink polish to be my base. You can choose any light color polish for the base. A base color is important to get smooth and beautiful gradient effect with seamless transition. Let the polish dry and layer it with a top coat.
Adding a top coat might seem an extra step but is it necessary for flawless finish. Sometimes, while sponging onto nails, the sponge might pick some base color in absence of a clear polish and the end result will be patchy and uneven. So to avoid it, you should apply a top coat before doing the sponge gradient.
Apply a liquid latex around the cuticles to avoid the mess and easy clean up. Get clean makeup wedge(Sponge, the triangular ones) and apply the polish colors onto the sponge lining them one after another. Now gently dab the sponge onto your nails. Repeat the process until you get the desired opacity. I did three layers of sponging to get the color as shown in the pictures. Seal the design with Top Coat and you’re done!
I got the liquid peel off tape (Item# 22612) from born pretty store. It is very easy to apply and saves you from the messy clean up after all those sponging. All you need to do is apply generously on the skin around your cuticle and give it some time to dry. After you are done with your sponging, you simply peel it off to get rid off the excess polish on the skin. I did very little clean up just near the cuticle to get a sharp manicure line.
You can buy this peel off tape online at Bornprettystore.com. Use the code DEMIG10 for 10% off on everything you buy. Born Pretty Store offers worldwide free shipping (No minimum Purchase required). It costs under $3!
