Nail Art With Dotting Tool ~ Blue White Nail Design

Hey everyone! Hope you are enjoying your day! Today I have a super easy nail art done with dotting tool. Very simple and easy to recreate and looks chic with the gold studs. This metallic blue and frosty white combination, I saw in some magazine and that’s how the inspiration came for this lovely blue white nail design. I only used a dotting tool to do this nail art. If you don’t have a dotting tool, you can use a bobby pin to make dots instead. Let’s Get started with this pretty blue white nail design.

Nail Art With Dotting Tool

Items and Tools I used

  • Base Coat
  • Blue Nail Polish – Maybelline Color Show Miss You Blue
  • Shimmery White Nail Polish – Wet n Wild MegaLast Salon Nail Color, Break the IceGold Studs
  • Acrylic Paint – Red and White
  • Gold Stud Rhinestones
  • Nail Art Dotting Tool
  • Top Coat

How I did the Nail Design

Start by applying base coat polish on all your nails to keep the manicure last longer. Base coat also protect your natural nails from harmful chemicals present in nail polishes. Paint middle two nails with Maybelline Color Show Miss You Blue and rest of the nails with Wet n Wild MegaLast Nail Color, Break the Ice.

Maybelline Color Show Miss You Blue has a pretty metallic finish to it. I used this same color polish in the Zebra Print Nail Tips Design. I was looking for a frosty white polish to go with it and picked Wet n Wild Break the Ice. It is a very sheer polish. So you need to apply many more layers to get it opaque. I have five coats of it on my nails.

Take white acrylic paint on your small dotting tool and make small dots to form a flower shape. Arrange the dots in a circular shape. I filled one blue nail with dot flowers and other nail just the tip. Make a red dot in the center of white dotted flowers. After the paint dries, add some Top Coat and place small gold studs over red dots.

Apply top coat on the white nails and place gold studs in the middle forming a straight line. Let the stud rhinestones settle well for some time and seal the whole design with Top Coat.

  1. hi Demi
I actually love this design! The little gold studs add to it and make the whole design work together. A pretty purple instead of the blue would also work well I think. But this combination also works very well. The dotting tool seems to be a must now. If I were to do my own manicure, I would get one for sure. Doing the dominant hand is always so difficult though! Using my left hand to paint would be a challenge…..

    • Hi Emily..I totally agree with you. Dotting tool is a must. It’s very handy and really easy to create designs. I too struggle painting with my left hand, but practice makes it a lot better. I will surely do a design with purple combination. Thank you for the idea!
