Items and Tools I Used

  • Base Coat Nail Polish
  • Pink Nail Polish – Maybelline Color Show Kiss me Pink
  • Yellow Nail Polish – Essie Shorty Pants
  • Orange Hex Glitter
  • Peach Eyeshadow Pigment
  • Foil Glue
  • Dotting Tool to apply Glitters
  • A Fluffy Brush to apply the Eyeshadow Pigment
  • Top Coat

How I did the Nail Design

Start by applying base coat on your nails. Base Coat polish protects the natural nail from the harmful chemicals in polish and prevents yellowness. It also helps your manicure to stay longer. Let your nails dry fully before moving forward.

In this design, we will create an ombre effect using nail polish and eyeshadow pigment. No sponge needed for this design. we will paint the nails half with pink and half with yellow. I painted bottom half of my nails with pink and top half with yellow polish. If you wish to alter the colors, I think it will look good too. Let the polish dry and then apply foil glue where the two colors meet.

The foil glue I used dries clear in couple of minutes. Then take the peach eyeshadow pigment on fluffy brush and tap it over the glued area. Dust off the excess with a brush. cover the pigments with a thin layer of top coat to blend it with the colors and to prep the nails for glitter application.

You will notice the peach pigment has created a nice transition color from pink to yellow. It will also help enhance the shine of the glitter flakes we will be using. Apply a tiny bit of clear polish on the smaller end of the dotting tool to pick the glitters and place it over the peach colored area.

Seal the whole design with Top Coat and there you have bright ombre nails for summer. The orange glitter makes this design more pretty.
