Hey everyone! How are you doing. I did this cute nail design for spring. Used a mint green nail polish for the base and made some red and gold flowers. Love the high contrast effect of the nail design. I did a little experiment by just adding one more layer of matte top coat overs the tip and flowers. Used liner brush with matte top coat to go over the branches. Really liked the way it look!
Items and Tools I Used
- Base Coat Nail Polish
- Mint Green Nail Polish ~ Wet n Wild One Step Wonder Gel in the Shade Pretty Peas
- Acrylic Paint ~ Red and Gold
- Nail Art Detail Brush
- Nail Art Liner Brush
- Top Coat/Matte Top Coat
How I did the Nail Design
Start by applying base coat on your nails for a long lasting manicure. After the base coat is dry, paint all your nails with a mint green nail polish. I used Wet n Wild One Step Wonder Gel in the Shade Pretty Peas, beautiful nail color for spring. Click Here to see the review and swatches. Make sure the polish is completely dry before doing any art work.
I used acrylic paint to make flowers as it gives more flexibility than polish.I painted branches with flower on accent nails and just small flowers on other nails. Take some red paint on your liner brush and make the smile line for french manicure, then fill the tip with the same color. Make small red lines to create branches using the same brush.
Making flowers is fairly simple to do. Make dot shapes near to each other using the detail brush and red paint. You can also use a dotting tool to paint the flowers. I did different sizes of flowers and added tiny dots to the flower bunch. Outline the tips with gold paint and make small drop shapes arranging them in a triangle shape on one side of the french tip. Make gold dots in center of each flower. It adds perfect contrast to the whole design. Seal the whole design with top coat.
