Hey everyone! How are you doing. My mint color polish was starting to wear off. So, I did this cute nail design to cover it and I got to wear it for some more days. Mint green is hardly used as a color for holidays. But I think this will look great with a red dress with some accessories of same colors as the nail art design.
Items and Tools I Used
- OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
- Mint Green Nail Polish – NCLA Santa Monica Shore Thing
- Teal Nail Polish – Ciate Superficial
- Red Nail Polish – Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, Rhapsody Red
- Yves Rocher Gold Glitter Top Coat
- Gold Nail Polish – Maybelline Colorshow Bold Gold
- Scotch Tape and Scissor
- Dotting Tool
- Nail Art Detail Brush
- Revlon Matte Top Coat
- Sally Hansen Big Shiny Top Coat
How I did the Nail Design
Start by applying base coat on your nails and let it dry. Apply a mint green polish on all the nails. Again Wait for it to dry. I used the shade Santa Monica Shore Thing by NCLA. I love the color and finish it gives. Looks absolutely beautiful. NCLA is a chemical free nail polish brand which is a bonus. Check out my full review of this NCLA Polish.
Cut wide stripes of scotch tape and apply it on half bottom of your nails. This will act as a guide to get clean and crisp tip line. Apply a teal color polish on the nail tips and remove the scotch tape while the polish is still wet. The teal color polish I used is Ciate Superficial.
Add a layer of gold glitter top coat over the teal polish. Take some red nail polish on a aluminum foil. Dip your dotting tool in the red polish and make small dots on the nail tips. It brings out the contrast and adds some character to the design. Now take few drops of gold polish and use a detail brush to out line the tip. When the polish is dry, seal the whole design with Matte top coat. Apply a shiny top coat just on the tips and you are done!
How do you like this design for holidays. What other occasions do you think this nail design will be good to wear. Share your thoughts in the comment box below. I would be happy to hear from you 🙂
