Hey everyone, happy Friday. Enjoy and learn this beautiful Black Flower Nail Art. The background color in this nail design makes it unique. It’s satin finish on grey polish with very fine gold glitter in it.

Black Flower Design

Items and Tools I Used

  • Base Coat by Wet n Wild
  • Grey color Nail Polish – Maybelline Color Show Buried Treasure
  • Acrylic Paint – Red and Black
  • Red Rhinestones 1.5mm size
  • Nail Art Detail Brush
  • Small Dotting Tool
  • Top Coat by Maybelline

How I did the Nail Design

Start by applying base coat on your nails. Then paint the nails with the grey nail polish. Always remember to let one layer of polish dry before applying another layer. However, If you are inserting rhinestones or other accessories, you need to place them before the polish dries.

So onto the next step, take black acrylic paint on your detail brush and make flowers near to the nail cuticle. This flower design has drops shaped petals. Using the same brush and paint, draw a thick swirl starting from the corner to the tip of your nail. Outline the swirl with black dots.

Take red acrylic paint on the dotting tool and make series of red dots on the black curvy line and the other corner of the nail. Using a dotting tool makes it more easy and perfect. You don’t need to pick the color every time for making each dot. The dotting tool makes the dots smaller and smaller each time you place it on the nail. Now add top coat in the center of the flowers and add red rhinestones. Lock the whole design by adding a final layer of top coat.

  1. Hi Demi,

You are so talented! Your designs always look great and you make it look so easy. How in the world do you think of something like this Black Flower Nail Design?

  2. Demi, your nails are fantastic! I absolutely love this design too. I’ve been contemplating getting into some nail art myself lately, and I keep coming across wonderful inspiring posts like this one. One thing I wonder though, is how you got your nails so long? Do you use something for that or are you just luckier than I? 😉

Anyway, great post! I can’t wait to see more 🙂

    Cat

    • Hi Cat, glad that you like the post. I used to have problem with long nails. But then I applied cuticle oil and moisturizer (regular face moisturizer) daily. Also I trim and file edges of the nails regularly. I will write a new post with details on my nail-care routine soon 🙂

  3. hi Demi
you must change your nail designs often! I like the subtle glitter of this design. As well as the red rhinestones at the center of the flower. A bit of sparkles is always nice. I don’t know how you can do your own nails and designs on them. I think I would struggle doing so

    • Thanks Emily! Since I have been doing my own nail design for some time now, I am used to it. Frankly speaking it is not difficult after you try once or twice. And it saves me spending time and money in nail salon 🙂

  4. Nice post full of great information.

  5. Nice article and design. I really like that in your video you show images of the different tools and supplies. That’s very helpful. Shirley
